The Architect of Modern Female Empowerment
In a world that thrives on innovation, connection, and authenticity, few individuals embody the essence of modern entrepreneurship quite like Houda Chami. The Los Angeles–based powerhouse is the founder of the Girls Power Network (GPN), a growing global community rooted in empowerment, collaboration, and purpose. What began as a humble group chat has blossomed into a movement, uniting women from around the world through curated events, brand-building opportunities, and shared sisterhood.
Houda’s story is one of resilience, vision, and bold creativity. From arriving in Southern California with nothing but ambition, to building platforms that uplift others, she continues to redefine what it means to lead with both strength and softness. Her ventures including the GPN Agency, GPN Podcast, and her Moroccan fashion label BALGA are fueled by intention and an unwavering belief in women supporting women.
In this exclusive CiiN Magazine interview, Houda opens up about her personal journey, her unique perspective on style, and the values that drive her work. She shares candid reflections on challenges, triumphs, and the beauty of creating spaces where women are seen, heard, and celebrated. With authenticity at the core of everything she does, Houda Chami is not just building a brand, she’s cultivating a legacy.

You moved to Southern California over a decade ago. What inspired that move, and how did it influence your journey as an entrepreneur?
I moved to Southern California 12 years ago on a one-way ticket with a dream. I didn’t have a clear plan, I just knew I was meant for something bigger. L.A. gave me the space to explore, grow, and really figure out who I am. It opened the door for everything I’ve built today.
How did your early experiences shape your vision for creating spaces that empower women?
Being in a new country alone, starting from scratch, and constantly having to prove myself that shaped everything. I never wanted other women to feel unseen or unsupported. That’s why I created a space where we celebrate each other, not compete.
What inspired you to start working in event planning and community building?
I’ve always loved bringing people together. I used to throw little gatherings for friends that turned into full-blown events without meaning to. I realized early on that I had a gift for creating energy in a room and I just followed that.
Can you share a significant challenge you faced in your journey and how you turned it into a driving force for success?
Going through my divorce was one of the hardest things I’ve faced, even though it ended on good terms. But it gave me so much clarity. I stopped waiting for life to happen and started building the life I wanted for me and for other women. I poured my heart into GPN.
The idea for Girls Power Network began in a group chat. What was the turning point that made you realize it could become something much larger?
It started as just a group chat to support each other, and suddenly it was hundreds of women connecting, collaborating, and showing up. When women started flying in just to attend our events, I knew it was way more than a group chat, we had something real.

What does empowerment mean to you personally, and how do you incorporate that into everything you do?
Empowerment means choosing yourself every day. Knowing your worth and not shrinking for anyone. I try to make sure everything I do from our events to our membership model reminds women of their power and gives them space to own it.
You launched your own Moroccan fashion brand, BALGA. What does the brand represent, and what inspired its creation?
BALGA is a tribute to my culture and the women who wear their confidence with pride. I wanted to bring Moroccan elegance into everyday life in a way that still feels luxurious, bold, and rooted in tradition. It’s a piece of home and identity.
How would you describe your personal style, and how does it reflect your identity as an entrepreneur and creative?
I’d say it’s bold, classy, and a little unexpected just like me. I dress how I feel. Some days it’s sleek and powerful, other days it’s wild and free. Style is energy, and I use it to express who I am in the moment.
In what ways do fashion and entrepreneurship intersect in your daily life?
Both are about vision and storytelling. Fashion is how I express myself. Entrepreneurship is how I build what I believe in. I show up to meetings and events dressed like I already am the person I’m becoming. That energy changes everything.
Who are some of your style or fashion icons, and how have they influenced your aesthetic?
I’m inspired by women who break rules with grace like Rihanna, Amal Clooney, and Queen Rania. They blend strength and elegance in such effortless ways. I also love traditional Moroccan style, it’s timeless.
Girls Power Network carries the motto “In unity lies our greatest power.” What does that mean to you, and how do you see it come to life?
It means that together, we’re one powerful force. When we come together as a community, we’re united. We stand as one. We rise as one. I see this every time women in GPN show up for each other whether it’s collaborating on a project, offering support, or simply showing love. There’s no competition, just pure sisterhood. That’s where our true power lies in unity.
How do you approach curating experiences and events that are not only impactful but also meaningful for your community?
I don’t just plan events, I create moments. I think about how I want people to feel. I want them to leave every experience more seen, more connected, more inspired than when they came.
How has the GPN membership model helped women in their professional and personal growth?
It gives women real access to community, visibility, collaboration, and opportunities to grow their business or passion. Some women got their first clients through GPN. Others found lifelong friendships or business partners. That’s what it’s about.
What do you look for in collaborators or brand partners when expanding GPN’s reach?
Alignment is everything. I look for people who care about community, value women, and bring something special to the table. It’s not just about the name, it’s about the energy and intention.
As the founder of multiple projects, how do you manage your time and stay creatively energized?
I’ve learned to say no, delegate, and protect my peace. I create space to recharge, travel, and try new things. Creativity doesn’t come from burnout, it comes from living.

What inspired the concept behind your GPN Podcast, and how did the game-show format come to life?
I wanted something fun, raw, and different. The game-show vibe came from me just wanting people to be real and get out of interview mode. It’s a mix of conversation, vulnerability, and community-building with a twist.
How do you select podcast guests and topics to ensure they align with your mission?
I pick people who have something to say who have walked through something, built something, or just carry good energy. If you’re real, authentic, and have a story that can help someone else, you’re my kind of guest.
The lotus is a powerful symbol for GPN. What does it mean to you and your brand?
The lotus grows in the mud but still blossoms in beauty. That’s us. No matter what we’ve been through, we rise and we do it with grace. It’s a reminder that power comes from within.
How would you describe your personal brand as an entrepreneur and public figure?
Authentic, bold, and community-driven. I don’t follow the rules, I make my own. But I always lead with love and purpose.
Are there any exciting new projects or directions you’re exploring in the near future?
Yes, we have so many exciting projects in the works. We’re expanding GPN globally, building new platforms, and developing more through our media and consulting division, GPN Agency to support businesses, elevate event production, and bring bold ideas to life. We’re building something much bigger than we imagined, and this is just the beginning.
What habits, routines, or mindsets help you stay grounded and focused?
Prayer, meditation, and checking in with my “why.” I also surround myself with people who speak life into me. That’s key.
Finally, what message would you like to share with the team of CiiN Magazine?
Thank you for highlighting women who are building something meaningful. I’m honored to share this space with you and your readers. Keep using your platform to uplift, connect, and inspire. We need more of that in the world.
